Ali Golchin, J.D.Esq. is a licensed attorney. He is a member in good standing of the California Supreme Court, Federal District Court, and The Federal Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He has been a member of the American Immigration Lawyer's Association since 1994. He is the president of the law firm of Golchin & Associates, A Professional Law Corporation that handles immigration-civil-and criminal law related matters.
In his undergraduate years, Mr. Golchin was a member of the San Jose State University's debate team. He interned for the office of the then State Assemblyman and the Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, John Vasconcellos.
Since early 1980's, Mr. Golchin has been involved with the legal issues relating to the immigrant community and the immigrants. In 1991, Mr. Golchin became authorized to appear before the Board of Immigration Appeal, Office of the Immigration Judge, and the Immigration and Naturalization Service (currently DHS). Since 1991, Mr. Golchin has represented over 4000 court (litigated) and non-court related cases.
From 1992-2001, Mr. Golchin served as the past director of two San Diego non-profit immigration advocacy organizations assisting indigent and low income immigrants. Together with a Catholic nun, he co-founded an immigration advocacy project in San Diego. He was a consultant and trainer for Survivors of the Torture International (SOTI ) on documentation and presentation of evidence of torture in U.S. Immigration Courts. He is active in civil and immigrant rights issues and regularly appears before various media forums debating those
