Congratulation to 2009-2010 IAYLW graduates.
Our 2010-2011 workshops begins on September 25, 2010. During this past year we listened to the suggestions made by the students and the parents and have made these workshops more interactive and useful for our students.
Unique One-Day Workshops to empower the Iranian-American High School students
Communication, Speech, Debate, Conflict Resolution, Detecting and Combating Discrimination is All its Forms, Transformational Leadership skills, Leadership Character Development, Accepting Responsibility, Power of Service to the Community, Internship, Meeting with Elected Representatives, Steps for Running for an Office, and Writing letters to the Editor or Op Ed, Giving back to the Community, and Preserving Iranian Culture and Heritage are just a few skills the students learn in a fun and practical one-day leadership workshops.
During the school year, students benefit from one day practical and motivational workshops conducted every two months. Many have already started
utilizing the skills they learned or were reminded in the workshops. Many parents reported noticeable changes in their youth in terms of motivation and leadership skills. Students learn to volunteer for a charity, obtain internships, join debate teams, and run for student government officer positions in their high schools. |
